GTA 6 fans are already stressing out over pre-orders, despite not being made available yet.
In May, Rockstar games delayed GTA 6 from this year until May 2026. Although we have to wait a little longer, it gives the studio time to finish polishing the game up.
With a new trailer and a tonne of screenshots to look at, the hype GTA 6 fans are feeling right now is immeasurable. But we still have to wait just under a year.
GTA 6 pre-orders aren’t available yet, but that hasn’t stopped fans from stressing out over potentially not being there at launch day.
This is especially true for more expensive versions of the game, such as collector edition, which typically sell out within minutes of being listed online.
I’m against pre-ordering, but I have pre-ordered some games,” wrote another. “Games from companies I know 200% are gonna be amazing when they come out, and they were. RDR2 was one of em and Stellar Blade. Now its gonna be GTA 6.”
Pre-order or no pre-order, it’s safe to say GTA 6 is going to be the talk of the town when it releases on 26th May, 2026.
The FOMO might set in when we get close to that, so you might be tempted to secure your pre-order then.
Regardless of anyone’s feelings on pre-ordering games, it’s your money and your choice on what to do with it.
GTA 6 collector’s edition is already hyped
GTA VI fans are hyped about what the collector’s edition for the game could hold.
With Rockstar Games set to release GTA 6 next May, fans are already hyping themselves up for pretty much every single aspect of the game.
Although we won’t be able to play it until just under a year away, everything from the price to the amount of content has been speculated on.
And given Rockstar lavishly expensive collector’s editions for GTA V and RDR 2, fans are now keen to hear more about the potential collector’s edition for GTA VI.
“What is the likelihood that Rockstar will produce a Collector’s Edition for Grand Theft Auto VI?” wrote one post on the GTA VI Reddit.
“They made bespoke Collector’s Editions for both Grand Theft Auto IV & Grand Theft Auto V, and with all of the hype and the tremendous budget allotted to Grand Theft Auto VI, it would stand to reason that they would want to make a Collector’s Edition for it as well.”
“It’s more of a question of what will be in it and is it worth the extra cost,” wrote one reply to the post.
“I have stashed away funds for the collector’s edition! Can’t wait to see what they come up with,” wrote another.
“I had the Special Edition of GTA IV with the Lockbox. You know they will. I will buy a PS5 Pro Bundle,” wrote another.
Pretty much every Rockstar game of the last 20 years has had a more expensive collector’s edition, so it’s looking increasingly likely that there’ll be one for GTA VI.
There was also one for Red Dead Redemption 2 as well, which features the likes of a large metal lockbox, themed playing cards, and even a double-sided jigsaw puzzle—but the actual game itself was sold separately.
So there remains the question of whether the game will actually be included with the collector’s edition this time around.

GTA 6 release date update has fans Stresed for more delays
GTA 6 fans are afraid of another delay coming in, after the game was initially delayed to 2026.
Last month, after a long road of silence, Rockstar announced that GTA 6 RELEASE ON 26 MAY 2026
Along with the news of a delay, the publisher also released a second trailer and a large handful of screenshots to tide us over.
Although it seems like this date is now set in stone, and won’t be changing, GTA 6 fans are worried that Rockstar could induce another delay to the game.
“How would you feel if GTA 6 got delayed again,” wrote one post on the Grand Theft Auto Reddit page.
“Pain, terrible pain,” wrote the top comment.
“It doesn’t matter if it gets delayed again,” wrote another reply. “What matters is the final product.”
“It’s happened for both GTA V and Red Dead 2. Both were slated to release in the Spring of the respective years they came out,” a third comment wrote.
“They were both delayed twice. My advice to you younger folks. Just don’t even think about it. I obsessed over GTA V for the two years in between the release date and the launch. Same with Red Dead. They both exceeded my expectations. It will be worth the wait.”
As for whether another delay is likely, it’s worth noting that Rockstar usually only delays games when they don’t have a concrete release date announced.
So the game could be delayed multiple times if it hasn’t been given a specific date, but there’s very little chance that 26th May, 2026 date is moving.
Still, we’ve learned to never say never when it comes to these sorts of things. And if Rockstar feels the need to shift the GTA 6 release date for the good of the final release, it’ll do so.
