GTA 6 price tag is making fans and gamers stressed

Grand Theft Auto VI is finally set to arrive on 26 May 2026, providing it isn’t subject to any further delays.

Rockstar games announced as much earlier this year, dropping the game’s long-awaited second trailer several days later.

fair to say, many of us mistook it completely for the latter when it first dropped.

Even still, it would be nice to see some unedited gameplay with GTA 6 full UI, but I imagine that won’t land until much closer to launch.

The main thing we’re now lacking with regards to GTA VI is information on its pricing, pre-orders, and various versions.

As I’m sure you’re aware, analysts previously suggested that GTA VI could charge as much as $100.

At the time, that seemed laughable, but in the months since, both Xbox and Nitendo have begun charging $80 for new releases.

Does an extra $20 seem out of the question for what many are hailing as a once-in-a-generation release? Perhaps not.

Whether you agree with that hypothetical price or not, it’s hard to deny its plausibility.

For months now, fans have been letting their thoughts be known – and I don’t think that’ll change until we have a concrete number.

“Probably only game deserving of such a price,”

“I am buying the collector’s edition. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. You don’t get a GTA game every two to three years now and knowing Rockstar and what they’re capable of delivering, I would buy GTA VI for $100 (or more for the collector’s edition),”

“Disagree. I’m not buying it unless it’s $60 or drops to that which is already outrageous,

“Should not cost that much at all, maybe $40 to $60 but $100 that’s when it’s called being greedy, taking advantage of people like us who are living paycheck still wanting to play a game at the end of the day to escape reality,”

I hate to say it but I wouldn’t be surprised if pricing wasn’t confirmed until early 2026 so I doubt this debate will draw to a close anytime soon.

I suppose all fans can do is let their voices be heard and hope Take-Two and Rockstar take notice.

Gta 6 Trailer 3 Announcement Made Gamers Mark Their Calenders

GTA 6 EARLY ACCESS MAKKING GAMERS EXCITED

arly access is becoming more and more popular over recent years with many publishers giving players the chance to dive into a game a few days ahead of its launch.

For a price, of course.

This has been seen recently with the release of Dune: Awakening, as despite its official launch not being until 10 June, players were able to spend a bit extra to dive into the game on the 5th.

When I say “a bit extra”, it is quite the increase as the standard edition of Dune: Awakening is £41.99 but players could buy the Deluxe version for £58.50 to be able to play the game five days earlier.

Of course, if players are that excited for a brand-new release, they will probably pay the extra money but this is not feasible for everybody.

Nevertheless, this early access trend has recently made its way over to r/GTA6 as one player wonders if Rockstar Games and take-two interactive will follow suit.

“Do you think GTA VI will follow the trend of offering two or three days early access for those who buy the deluxe edition?”

GTA 6  is expected to be released on 26 May 2026 and although there is still quite some time to go, if any game is going to see fans pay for early access, it is this one.

However, early access has not been standard practice for Rockstar for previous releases and so fans believe it will not be an option for GTA VI.

“Rockstar doesn’t pull that s*it,” one user said simply.

Others agreed, with another user ADDING “Nope, they are never going to give early access for the most anticipated game.

Imagine the spoilers that will hit the internet on the first day.”

Despite this practice giving us more days to enjoy Grand Theft Auto VI, it seems as though the vast majority of fans would rather stay clear of spoilers and wait until 26 May.

However, who knows what Rockstar and Take-Two have planned?

GTA 6 accidental leak explored by fans

GTA VI fans are roasting an accidental leak for the game which has surfaced online.

We’re still just under a year away from being able to play the next GTA 6 game, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be getting small snippets of info leading up to the release.

Given the size and scope of the project, leaks are also inevitable. I mean, the game suffered one of the most high profile leaks imaginable just a few years ago.

Now, it looks like a possible radio station dedicated to Canadian rapper Drake could be appearing in GTA 6 after  it during a podcast appearance.

“Who the f*** wants a Drake station,” wrote on the PS5 Reddit page.

“Praying they’re not doing this but it also would be pretty funny if Drake got his own station,”

Dupri also suggested that GTA VI will have a live music feature where artists can upload their songs directly to the game, and have them appear on the in-game radio station.

“Just let them use a Spotify / Apple Music account,”

“The more I hear about this game the more I think it’s gonna be $100,”

Although it’s not practiced as much as it used to be, older games used to allow you to upload your own MP3 tracks into the game files and they would be used on in-game radio stations.

You could do this with older GTA games, for example, and I remember doing it in a Burnout game too. At one point, I think I filled it entirely with ABBA songs.

It’s possible that feature could return to GTA VI, so players can add their own music to play on in-game radio stations.

GTA 6 release date made fans mar their calenders

GTA 6 is officially set to release on May 26, 2026. The game will first be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. While Rockstar hasn’t confirmed a PC release date yet, it is widely expected that a PC version will follow several months after the initial console launch, much like previous entries in the series.
